O INPI publicou o Boletim Mensal da Propriedade Industrial com os resultados das estatísticas preliminares do mês de dezembro e do ano de 2023.
Face a 2022, aumentaram os depósitos relativos a patentes (+2,9%), marcas (+6,4%), programas de computador (+16,1%) e indicações geográficas (+22,7%). Queda nos pedidos de aprovação de contratos de tecnologia (-16,9%) e de desenhos industriais (-2,0%).
Em termos de concessões, em 2023 registou-se um aumento acumulado nos registos de marcas (29,3%), programas de computador (56,6%) e confirmações de contratos (0,1%). A concessão de patentes (-21,1%) diminuiu no período em análise.
Além do perfil dos depositantes por país de origem e natureza jurídica do residente, é possível acessar o total de depósitos e as concessões de registro de cada bem de propriedade industrial.
Entre os países que mais depositaram pedidos de patentes de invenções estão os Estados Unidos (30%), Brasil (20%), China (7%), Alemanha (6%) e Suíça (5%).
As pessoas físicas responderam por 34% dos 4.971 pedidos de patentes de invenções feitos por residentes. Entre as 387.310 marcas registradas, as mais importantes foram MEI, microempresas e EPP (51%).
The National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI) has published its Monthly Industrial Property Bulletin, revealing preliminary statistics for December and the year of 2023.
Compared to 2022, there were increases in the number of filings for patents (+2.9%), trademarks (+6.4%), computer programs (+16.1%), and geographical indications (+22.7%). On the other hand, there was a decline in requests for approval of technology contracts (-16.9%) and industrial designs (-2.0%).
In terms of grants, 2023 saw an accumulated increase in the registration of trademarks (29.3%), computer programs (56.6%), and confirmations of contracts (0.1%). The granting of patents (-21.1%) decreased during the analyzed period.
In addition to data on applicants’ country of origin and legal nature of residents, the bulletin provides details on the total filings and granted registrations for each industrial property right.
Among the countries with the highest number of invention patent applications were the United States (30%), Brazil (20%), China (7%), Germany (6%), and Switzerland (5%).
Natural persons accounted for 34% of the 4,971 invention patent applications filed by residents. Among the 387,310 trademarks registered, the most significant were MEI, microenterprises, and small enterprises (51%).
